Agog LLC is a philanthropic organization that brings together social-change agents, thinkers, and builders, helping them create new ways to learn, inspire, and collaborate with immersive technologies.  This Privacy Notice explains the personal information we collect, use, and share to operate Agog.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with our services, we may collect:

  • Basic biographical details, such as name, gender or date of birth

  • Professional information and affiliations, such as title, role, employment details, area of interest, career history, and professional activities

  • Photographs and other recordings, either provided by you or taken at events

  • Any other information you provide to us

If you receive grants or other funding, we also collect:

If you attend an event (virtual or physical), we may also collect:

  • Virtual persona, including avatar or voice interactions in virtual spaces
  • Personal preferences, such as dietary preferences and accommodations 
  • Event logistics, such as which activities you are attending
  • Usage information in virtual spaces, such as time, frequency, and duration of your activities
  • Travel information, such as travel preferences and reservations, and passport and visa information
  • Financial information, e.g., for reimbursements

How we use information

  • Operate Our Services: We use the data we collect to operate and improve our services, including enabling creators to connect and convene and providing technical and financial support to creators working toward social good. This includes hosting events, such as convenings, summits, forums, workshops, and conferences, as well as fostering opportunities to network. 
  • Grants and Funds: We use the information we collect to disburse grants and funds to recipients. 
  • Research and Analytics: We use survey feedback and other information we collect to conduct research to improve our services. For example, we may send surveys to get feedback on events. We also use analytics to better understand how people interact with our programs and events and how we can improve our network.
  • Communicate with You: You can sign up to receive electronic communications about events and opportunities. You can always unsubscribe. 
  • Website: We use technical information, cookies, and usage patterns to operate and improve our website. For example, we perform data traffic analysis to evaluate the usage, performance, and safety of the website. 
  • Manage Operations: We use the information we collect to manage our operations, including performing accounting, auditing, and other internal functions.
  • Make Connections: With your permission, we may make connections between you and programs or people in our network. We may recommend you for other fellowships, programs

How we share information

  • Program Partners: Some of our events are run jointly with other institutions. If you participate in an opportunity or event that is run with a partner, we share your information to operate the event jointly. 
  • Service Providers: We share your information with third-party service providers to help us provide our services. We use service providers for things like web hosting services, newsletter delivery, hosting events, surveys, analytics, and research.
  • Affiliated Entities: We may share your information with our affiliated entities Hillspire LLC and Futures Action Network, LLC.
  • Legal Purposes: We may also share your information if it’s required by law or legal process. For example, we may share your information in response to government requests, or to establish or defend legal claims. We also may share information in connection with a merger, an acquisition, or a transfer of our assets or the assets associated with one of our programs.
  • Data Transfers: Some of the recipients described in this section may be in different countries with different privacy laws. For our users located in the European Economic Area, UK or Switzerland, if we transfer your information to a country that has not been recognized as providing an adequate level of data protection, we rely on safeguards such as agreements with terms approved by the European Commission or ensuring that the recipients are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
  • Others: Any user-generated content posted on our website or other public areas (virtual or physical) will be available to visitors to those spaces. In addition, we may include information like your name, headshot, avatar, and biography in biobooks or other materials at events. Photographs or virtual depictions taken at events may be used on our website, social media, newsletters, and shared to partners. 

Your rights

Users located in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, and certain U.S. states have the right to access, delete or correct personal information we hold.

You may also have the right to object to certain processing, such as processing based on legitimate interests. In certain cases, you also may request that we provide you with a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
