Blur, one of the most ambitious mixed-reality theater projects of 2025, sparked international conversation for its bold fusion of live performance and mixed reality. Join Agog for a conversation with Blur creators Craig Quintero and Phoebe Greenberg, moderated by Myriam Achard, chief of new media partnerships and PR at PHI, as they unpack the creative, technical, and collaborative forces behind the work.

Co-produced with PHI Studio and partners Riverbed Theatre and Onassis Culture, Blur is an immersive theater experience for ten audience members that blends live performance with virtual and augmented reality. An Official Selection of Venice Immersive at La Biennale di Venezia (2025), Blur examines loss, remembrance, and the ethical boundaries of scientific innovation.

In this talk, attendees will get a behind-the-scenes look into the production’s journey—from co-production and collaboration with international organizations, to assembling a multidisciplinary creative and technical team, to integrating diverse dramaturgical practices across theater, XR, and performance art. The speakers will reflect on what it takes to create immersive works that are emotionally resonant, technically sophisticated, and capable of touring globally.

This program will take place virtually in Agog House, Agog’s world in VRChat, and will also be livestreamed on Agog’s YouTube channel.

Phoebe Greenberg, Co-Creator of Blur & Founder and Chief Creative Officer, PHI

Phoebe Greenberg is the founder and chief creative officer of PHI, a unique cultural ecosystem dedicated to the production, dissemination, and exploration of contemporary art. For over 20 years, she has shaped Montréal’s artistic landscape by creating emblematic spaces in the heart of Old Montréal. In 2007, Greenberg established the PHI Foundation for Contemporary Art, known for its ambitious exhibitions, free public access, and strong commitment to both local and international audiences. In 2012, she launched the PHI Centre, a multidisciplinary space where art, music, cinema, and new technologies converge. Driven by her vision, PHI also developed PHI Studio in 2019, a structure dedicated to producing, creating, and touring immersive works on the international stage. In 2025, to unify its identity and prepare for the future, all entities have been brought together under the umbrella of PHI and PHI Studio. Looking ahead to 2029, PHI Contemporain will open its doors—a major cultural project that will bring together PHI’s entire public programming under one roof, further establishing Montréal as a hub for artistic creation and innovation.
